How the Laser works:
Soft tissue dental lasers allow us to perform special dental functions without changing or damaging the surrounding tissues of your mouth. By delivering energy in the form of a concentrated light beam, the dental laser is able to easily and smoothly perform specific functions in the tight crevices of your mouth. Treating the soft tissue areas in your mouth is a lot easier and more comfortable thanks to lasers.
The soft tissue laser removes bacteria and diseased tissue, while simultaneously sculpting and cauterizing the area. This means there is little to no bleeding, making your healing time faster. The laser beam also sterilizes the tissue, reducing the chance of infections.
Because the laser works on a cellular level, the procedure is usually painless. Most people do not need anesthesia. The laser is quiet, you will only hear a low hum or beep sound.
Lasers are versatile:
Lasers can be used in a variety of dental procedures in our practice including –
- Crown lengthening to improve your smile
- Sterilizing gum tissue areas infected with bacteria
- Removing gum tissue without cutting
- Removing cold sores and lesions
The FDA says lasers are safe to use on everyone. Laser therapy is a great option for you and a welcome procedure to help you get a bright and healthy smile.
